Teevio and the Aces (TVA) are a jack of all trades. Ranging from Funk, R&B and Jazz to Rock and Roll, TVA is a unique blend of tastes. Hailing from Rhode Island, the group is the product and Third Place prizewinners of The Search RI talent show. They are a combination of two preexisting acts with their own history. The Modern Aces are an all-teen instrumental supergroup of Maximus Claros on Drums, Brendan Speck on Bass and Jacob Harwood on Guitar, are accomplished musicians with records, all-state recognition, and years of gigging experience under their belts. Teevio is an accomplished R&B musician with a wide discography available on all streaming platforms. Together, the band adapts to all settings and events and can meet the vibe of all types of venues. We play a hybrid set of originals and covers. In terms of original music, the group focuses on combining hooky and catchy pop melodies with uniquely nuanced musicianship, sprinkling in 80s style guitar rock solos, hardcore funk bass and bebop jazz drumming. Though we perform 100% live without backing tracks or any sort of AI or pre-tracked aid, we embrace electronic sounds in the studio in an attempt to blend a live sound with a more modern edge. While it’s true that nothing quite sounds like TVA, there’s an aspect of the show for everyone.
